I’ve written numerous guidebooks to Greece, including the National Geographic Traveler Guide to Greece, a 12-month project which covers every inch of the country. I still update it, usually every other year.

I have been visiting the country at least once a year ever since I was 18 years old and first tasted calamari and retsina. One year I managed to get there four times. I drove several thousand miles throughout the Greek mainland while researching my first Greek guidebook, the AA’s Essential Mainland Greece, and since then I’ve also written Essential Greek Islands, and Essential Athens, which I recently updated as Essential Spiral Athens.

I’ve also written the Globetrotter Guide to Corfu for New Holland, CitySpots Athens for Thomas Cook, and updated several sections of the latest Michelin Green Guide to Greece.

I worked on both Eyewitness Greek Islands and Eyewitness Athens and the Mainland for Dorling Kindersley. With my wife Donna Dailey I have co-written the AA’s Spiral Athens and Spiral Corfu titles, and together we recently started our own Greece website, Greece Travel Secrets

I’ve written lots of pieces for newspapers, magazines and websites about Greece, including a week working as a Greek waiter on Zakynthos, and experiencing a nudist holiday on Crete (blush), both for The Times of London.
